mBDL 2.1.0

The mBDL (Mobile Forest Data Bank) application provides direct access to forest maps on smartphones and tablets. The application's main content consists of thematic forest maps, such as basic maps, tree stand maps, ownership forms, forest habitats, plant communities, hunting maps, tourist management maps, fire risk and temporary access restrictions. In addition to industry-specific maps, users can display predefined raster bases, such as topographic maps or aerial/satellite orthophoto maps, as well as maps from external WMS services. The addresses of popular services, such as cadastral data, orthophoto map or the GDOŚ service, are permanently stored in the application for easier access. Users can also connect any WMS services by entering a specific URL address, which is then saved in the application.

After downloading the necessary data in advance, the application also works offline when there is no Internet connection. The mechanism for downloading data for offline use allows users to access forest and national park maps. Along with raster-format saved maps, vector data with descriptive attributes is downloaded for PGL LP forests.

Through the mBDL application, users have online access to a full appraisal description for forests of all ownership forms. This description includes tree and shrub species found in a particular location, detailed descriptions, forest address, economic indications, and many other details.

The application is further equipped with a range of useful field functionalities: surface and distance measuring, saving a GPS location point or map indication, saving routes, and simple navigation to a specified point. Saved points and routes can be exported as KML files, sent out in various ways, or imported on another device where the mBDL application is installed.

In mBDL, users can search for forest divisions based on forest addresses, cadastral plots, or points using their coordinates. Additionally, a Help menu provides instructions on basic functionalities that users should familiarize themselves with when starting to use the application.
